I can see theres a lot of eve-online players here at OCforums so I just wanted to start this thread for Eve-Online players here to help new comers (like me) the basics on the game :p. I really like this game. It really gives a new look for the gaming world. It's like im living another life when i play this game (kinda like sims ,but MMORPG style). There's bills and all that good stuff. This game really blows my mind, There is SO MANY PLACES TO GO!! I recommend this game to anyone how likes MMORPG's. Anyone who likes MMORGPs should go download and play the free 14day trail if you want to check this out www.eve-online.com Guild Wars and got nothing on Eve-Online Lol.

First of all i would like to ask a few questions
(can these questions be post in detail plz :p cause im a noob)

How can i find more agents?
How do you look for agents by useing the map?
What should i do first when i finish with the tutorials, work?
What Skills should i train?
How much ISK is "ALOT" cause i have like 500,000 ISK right now.
How do i sell items?
Are the item drops like the Guild Wars games (kill stuff and pick up their items)?
How can you make your cargo have more room?

There are two good ways. One, is that your training agent will direct you to your next agent, and that agent onwards. You can also look up the info on a NPC corporation (Such as the Ammatar Consulate), and pull up the Agents tab. They will be broken down by Agent type, and whether they are available or not.

How do you look for agents by useing the map?
You are not able to find Agents by the map, only through the info panels, the station agent tab, and the people and places neocom panel.

What should i do first when i finish with the tutorials, work?
Depends on what you want to do. If you want to do more missions, complete another mission for the tutorial agent, and go to the agent who they direct you. If you want to mine, pick up a few mining lasers and mine. If you want to rat, pick up some weapons (and a better frigate), and go to asteroid belts in .7 space and lower. If you want to PVP, pull up your map, find .4 space and lower, and I wish you the best of luck. =)

What Skills should i train?
Frigate to 4, appropriate gunnery skills, a few basic engineering and electronics skills (to use shield skills and armor skills), and then work on your Learning skills.

How much ISK is "ALOT" cause i have like 500,000 ISK right now.
As much as you want to have. Figure in the 5-10 billion ISK, though, as a good, comfortable nest egg. =D

How do i sell items?
Put the items in your personal items hanger, right click, and select sell. If you want to get more involved, look for the station that is buying it for the most in the market panel, move your stuff there, and sell it.

Are the item drops like the Guild Wars games (kill stuff and pick up their items)?
Items from destroyed rats and Player ships appear in cargo containers where they were destroyed. You move to within 1.5 kilometers, open the cargo, and move it to your cargo hold.

How can you make your cargo have more room?
Buy a ship with a bigger cargo hold, or equip cargo expanders in your low slots.

And finally, if you haven't done it already... COMPLETE THE ENTIRE TUTORIAL!

There's a lot of information to be found on this forum as well as the official forums, and online manual, including good reading materials and Wiki pages. And finally, there's no place better to find information than in the Info pages on the items themselves. There is almost literally nothing you can't find out about from them.

THANKS DUDE!! o yea how can i make more money?!?!

There are a variety of ways to make money

1) Do agent missions. THis doesn't make a whole lot of money, but it does increase your faction standing, which lets you do better missions for more money. If you do these, I recmmend getting the "connections" and "negotiations" skills, as they boost the amount of cash recieved per mission. Also, find a station which has 2 agents in it, and work from there. That way you can do two missions at a time, and not have to return to base.

2) MIning: UBe rboring. Generally you have to spend a long time to get the right equipment to mine enough to make cash. What I generally do is let other peopl ein my corp mine, and I fly cover(and then get a cut, plus I get to shoot down people;)) or I haul, which lets me multitask better than if I just do normal mining, which decreases the boredome factor.

3)Trade. Check out the items for sale in a system, see "Hmm, this is a good price, this is a bad price... I could sell this for mor... ooh! good deal!" and buy/sell. Play the market. This makes a whole crapload of money if done right, but requires time/effort/patience to get right. Ask Sjaak for some tips;)

4) SHooting stuff for fun. This is the worst for low levels. It takes so dang long to get any sort of money out of boutnies. Do kill missions, that way you get loot + bounty + mission reward, + gauranteed baddies at your warp.

So, that';s the basic four. I do kill missions, haul for mining buddies in my corp, and some trading. Not a whole lot, as I'm to lazy to collect the necessary data.

As far as making money, get into a non-NPC corp as soon as you can. I'm fortunate in that the corp Im in now assigns me jobs to do (mostly hauling right now) and they build me whatever I need (Thorax, Medium RG's, etc).

Oh by the way, don't go to 0.0 space with a ship you don't mind losing or without escort.

how do you join a non-NPC corp?
and wats the best way to make money for me right now as a beginer? do jobs for Agents?

Non-NPC corp?

You can try OCforums corp...I got into my present corp via networking in the eve radio chat. Otherwise, you can go to any station and click on the offices tab. You'll see a listing of corps in that station. Apply around.

I also suggest you check out eve radio, the music is mediocre but I've won tons of isk through it.

Best way to make money?

Before I was in my present corp I fasttracked the skills for a gallente destroyer. Fitted with three mining lasers I can bring in about 500k isk per hour mining. Also keep in mind that you need to buy a hauler to bring all the ore back. I like my gallente destroyer for mining because I can deploy one mining drone, utilize three mining lasers, and have two small 125mm rg's as rat protection.

When you mine you can jettison the ore from the cargohold and whenever your cargohold fills up again you add it into the jettisoned cargo. Be aware that jettisoned cargos only last an hour at best before they blow up, taking your ore with it. To remedy this, I jettison a second can after 45 minutes and swap the ore from the first cargo into the second.

I do this for a couple hours, fly back and get in my hauler. Come back to the belt I mined and haul everything back. Refine and sell. Also be wise if you skill up on your refining skills.

If I mine, I tend to mine in .6 space. Since I fill up with cargo expanders and what not, the rats get a little too nasty for me not carrying any shield boosters in less than .6 space. Anything higher than .6 space the good ore becomes rarer. Avoid velspar like the plague, focus on things that say dense, solid, massive, etc. Means the asteroids yield more!

Concerning Agents, get your social skills up so you can get to level 2 agents quickly. They pay more and give you some nice things for completing missions. I got 10 units of plutonium once, sold it for 550k isk!

All through I'm so new I still squeak I can add one thing.
Always be training, seam's the higher levels take a very long time in real time so make sure you are training for something overnight when you log.

what better for money agents or mining?

Mining. It's also the most boring of the professions. But, if you get to the higher echalons, you can make 100m + a day doing it. You can mine the .7 ores (kernite, etc) for about 3m an hour in larger ships. (Such as a retriever, mining cruisers, or battleships with mining lasers).

what are drones for?

Drones are basically mini ships. Attack drones supplement your attack capabilities by fighting ships you designate. Mining drones, well, mine. And there are some support drones which can web, scramble, repair, etc.

As for the MP3's, no clue. Check the official forums, under the technical headers.
