yeah i researched, GTX 465 has around 20% less performance before OCing and only 3-4 degrees cooler , I'd rather just avoid the OC hassle on this card.

2 things, 1) How do I make sure I get the bing cash back? I went to ping searched for the gpu, clicked the bing cash back thing, and then picked tiger direct. I entered my email address and the captcha, but I didn't see anything else to do?

2) The 4myrebate says the code is invalid/there is nothing for nvidia?

I'm very tempted to get this. I can turn an burn it and then buy a 460 and make some $$ :santa:

edit:
On #2, the proper link is http://evga.4myrebate.com/customer/default.aspx

Also the bing cash back says 10.2-12% for me.. Still a great deal though!

edit 2:
Comes out to $261.16, almost $20 in taxes! I'm not sure if I want to bite on this deal. It kind of kills any hope of making a few bucks on this :(

the rebate code is : EGA-8790

I just checked and it is working ...

As soon as you buy it, your Bing cash back should show as pending...

For some reason I am only showing 12% :( Oh well... I can afford the extra 3%.

also I couldn't get it to work on the Just Cause 2 edition... so I removed that from my OP.

STILL looking at it in my cart... O.O

Anyone know if my e8400 will bottleneck the GTX470 ?

I am gonna hold off a day, there is no super rush as the rebate is good till 7/16.

Need more research time. :) I don't think my PSU can handle this card either ?

Your PSU can handle that card.:)

that's not what i wanted to hear! ugh.... I dunno what to do , maybe I'll sleep on it...

This is probably not what you need to hear , but you can save additional 20 bucks if you use ebillme at checkout , they have a mail rebate promo for purchases 100$ and up.It will delay your shipment , since your bank will need time to clear the payment.

That SD thread has all the info.

I've decided to hold off... After filling out the order form twice. >.<

I am gonna wait for a Evga GTX 460 OC 1GB to come on sale , I can't justify the extra heat and power usage (100 watts more?) for a 15% increase over the GTX460.

Hope those who go in on this deal enjoy :)

Am hovering around this myself, just can't decide. There is a reason these are so discounted, they are piling up stock. If I have sold my current GPU I would have bit , but just can't justify it right now.

That what I was thinking , its like a fire sale!

I have been forum reading and some sites even mention the GTX465 being phased out soon, and it was just released like a month ago. o_O The GTX460 (with Fermi G104) is quite a beast.

That's quite an amazing deal, I wish I could afford it :(

Semi-related note - the free Just Cause 2:

How the heck is this supposed to work? Two CS reps that actually were helpful had no idea wth is going on with this.

Another flat-out refused to believe that this is a real promotion. "That's not our promotion. It's someone else's - go talk to whatever site linked you to it." Right...that's why the URL has tigerdirect.com in it, and is linked to on your frontpage (abet in a really tiny banner on the right side of the page). :bang head
