New to the forums and trying my hand at fabricating a custom computer case. Something that will fit a mini-ITX, micro-ATX, ATX, and EATX motherboard. I'm staying away from the full tower style and going with more of a cube style to ease stress on some components and to fit under a desk cabinet. Hopefully this will be compact with tons of options and high air flow. My goal is to keep the height under 11" and still be able to support 160 mm air coolers. So far I'm at 11.5" but I'm also using 5mm foamboard so I expect to lower it some using aluminum.
Materials will be a 6061-T4/6 aluminum alloy. 2.3mm for the frame and 1.6mm for the doors and exterior covers.
I'm thinking about making this a Skyrim themed case mod with Dovahzul or Daedric writing along 45 degree slanted covers (doubled as fan grills) which will attatch the top, bottom, and front of the case. Possibly RGB lighting would be cool along with a cutout of the dragonborn logo that will light up to act as the power on light.
For colors I am thinking gun metal grey and black. Maybe powder coated with brushed aluminum texture.
I expect a lot of trial and error to be involved so I am starting out with some foam board to get a better idea of things. Anyway onto the pictures so far.
