Flat case, 4.6GHz 7700K, low noise: possible?

I had 8600K which was overclocking below average and I was changing the whole build. Idea was to buy a bit stronger CPU which I could overclock keeping stock voltage or lower. There is a higher chance to get good overclocking 8086K than 8700K ... and I just wanted 8086K even though I know it's a waste of money.

I was testing many ITX cases and I can tell you that every cube case will let to keep lower noise than anything "flat". That Kolink case is still good option as whole alu exterior works as a heatsink (it's pretty hot when all is under full load).
Flat/slim silverstone cases will need the same coolers as Kolink but in total take more space.
You can also take a look at this brand. Full alu, should be option without window but for some reason can't see it. Prices are quite low and quality is good:

This cooler fits into most "flat" cases but you have to check height from CPU to side/top panel:

For that will be required low/standard height memory.

I'm using this one:

with G.Skill Trident Z RGB ( like I care about RGB in a closed case without windows :) )

Funny, I‘ve just been watching the very same page.

By the way, is there any slim case which can accomodate a full-height cooler?

What do you mean by full-height ? :) ... because of "flat" case design you can count on 60-70mm max for cooler so I gave you the best options in this size. Typical new tower case has space for ~140-155mm coolers. Large towers have space for up to 170mm coolers. Many cube type ITX cases have space for 150-155mm coolers like these Raijintek or Fractal some posts ago. These are safe option if you want to have quiet CPU but they're not flat.

Then it wouldn't be slim... it would have to be AT LEAST the height of the cooler.

The case specifcations at the website should give exact CPU heatsink clearance for each. I know that isn't terribly helpful...

It doesn’t exist (yet?) but one could imagine right-angled caloducs to turn tall coolers at right-angle from the CPU so to allow their placement into a thin case. :bang head:
