Drain the loop at the bottom, refill from the top. Not entirely sure what details you are looking for in this process. :)

If there is gunk in it, id clean each part out separately with hot water shaking the radiator around...

i dont have any experience with custom loops which is why im asking. make sure theres no unknown's. dont wanna mess someone elses equipment up......

in that case make doubly sure you dont run the pump dry when you refill the loop. it will kill the pump. unplug the psu from the wall and hold down the power button for a few seconds. also be sure to clean up any spills with a dry cloth then wipe the area down with 90% isopropyl alcohol. if you have a big spill disconnect everything connected to the part thats wet and literally douse it with alcohol until you have flushed any and all water out. shake out as much alcohol as you can then leave it standing on end(which ever looks like it will allow it to drain out the best) overnight. check it in the morning. use compressed air to blow it out. make sure there isnt any leftover alcohol or water sitting in it. if completely dry hook it back up and your gtg.
never try to power on the rig if you arent 100% sure that any spills arent completely dry.
if you post up some pics of his loop we can help you figure out the best way to drain and fill it.

Dousing with alcohol is not a good idea.
Isopropyl alcohol 90% contains 10% water and is not a good thing to use on electrical components, unless you use a blow dryer afterwards to force dry it off.
The best electronic cleaner is CRC QD Electronic Cleaner, you can find at any auto parts store or Walley World.

we will have to agree to disagree. i have used this method to save cellphones, mobos and gpus more times than i can count. ive even used 70% isopropyl with no issues. ive yet to lose a component using this method to save water soaked parts. as long as they arent powered up while wet 90% alcohol will save them if done the way i laid out. alcohol is an excellent water displacer.
