SOLVED Foxconn Board, Compatibility problem.

Right so i have this Foxconn G33mo2 motherboard which was from a Dell pc, so its an OEM board. The Dell came with C2D e8400 which i'm now using in another pc. So i thought i would buy a Pentium 4 and sell the old Dell on eBay, but the board wont post with Pentium 4 installed(No beeps, No nothing!) It still posts fine with the E8400 installed. So why isn't it working? the Pentium 4' are Compatible... The cpu does work, i tried it on another board, I have reset the cmos, removed the Ram,Gpu,HDD's Urghh

Are there any bios updates available for the board from foxconn or dell? Which P4 CPU are you trying to install?

Is the P4 on the compatibility list at Dell for that board?

The P4 is defiantly compatible with the version of the board and i will update the bios and chipset tommorow and get back to you...

OP what specific CPU do you have.. is it one of those? "P4" is a bit vague.

Bit of Derp, i obviously ordered the wrong one, it a Pentium 4 630.. I'll make sure to buy one off the list then! thanks for the feedback!
I'm gonna go ahead and buy the Core2Duo E4300 !
