I have been having similar issues.
Recently I have noticed a major slow down and a mass of issues cropping up with my computer. Everything from frequent blue screen, lagging from hell, games not recognizing installed paths or other software (like Vcredist and DIRX) Just random stuff like that. I am running Windows 10 Pro and have even recently wiped all drives and restarted from scratch.. problem is still there most of the time.. so i started thinking hardware...

Here is what I am running.. From the top..

* 43" Samsung 4K UHD Screen

* Rosewill Nighthawk Case (https://www.rosewill.com/product/ca...-fans-pre-installed-fan-speed-control-retail/)

* Asrock 970m Pro3 MB (https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970M Pro3/) ((Considering swapping to https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970A-G3.1/) Opinions on this?? )

* AMD FX-8370 BE CPU (https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/fx-8370)(Has Wraith Cooler)

* G.Skill RipjawsX 32Gb Ram (http://www.gskill.com/product/165/1...ipjawsXDDR3-1600MHz-CL9-9-9-1.50V32GB-(4x8GB))

* EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW 8gb GPU (https://www.evga.com/products/specs/gpu.aspx?pn=4c30d8e6-9959-4f98-87d0-ca09d83ba195)

* EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3 PSU (https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=220-G3-0850-X1)

* 1x Seagate BarraCuda 3tb (https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16822178994)

* 2x Seagate BarraCuda 1tb (https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16822179010)

Here is what I am getting From CPUz
specs.jpg

My Ram is running WAY slower than it should...

Same deal. 4x8 gig sticks on a weak IMC.
Need to set the timings manually, increase the CPU/NB volts to 1.3v, increase the memory volts to 1.65v, and maybe you will get them to run in the 1600-1800 speed range. 2133 is almost out of the question.

Motherboard bus speed is set at 215 Mhz you need to correct that 1st. Unless you have it set there purposely?

Actually never noticed the bus speed, I will correct that, and will also correct the voltage.
I am not really up to speed with pc hardware stuff and getting things set up. Really off the map on over clocking.. Guess it shows lol.
Thats why I wanted to see what I was doing wrong.
Also. Posted two motherboards.. Should I stick with the 970m or get the 970A? Looking for which would be better.
Thank you guys so much !!! Going to get that fixed and see how it does :)

I do not feel you need a new motherboard. Get it running correctly and save for a new system. No reason to buy a new board for an EOL system. Save your money for something more modern.

You have to remember that the Offical DDR3 speed stopped @ 1333MHz or 667x2. You need to hit Del or Esc when you computer boots and get into the BIOS. In the memory section you need to set the Timings Manually. Set the memory to 1600 (800x2) and the timings to 9-9-9-24. If you are confused - just read and copy CPU-Z's memory tab info - you can set it to either 1T or 2T, it's up to you.
The FX-8xxx has a WEAK IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) and likes to run with ONLY TWO (2) sticks of memory at a MAX of 16GB's total. What you are seeing is the IMC's attempt to RUN FOUR (4) sticks of 8GB each, for a total of 32GB of memory.
If you feel that this is the system that you want - Ditch the 970 POS and ONLY look at 990FX Motherboards.
^ YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED - 990FX MB's are not cheap and that is what you will need to RUN 32GB @ 1600+.

I have gone through and reset the timing manually, still no avail.. Also jave looked into the 990 FX mb but never see any available. Thinking maybe I should see for an Intel MB and CPU. But I dunno I'll probably just save for a while and start over minus case and GPU for now cause they are still great

Post up another set of screen shots of the Cpu, Memory and Spd tabs now that it is set manually.

When you say this what exactly do you mean? Is the system still unstable?

As of right now hold off on buying new components. Lets see if we can get the setup you have running correctly.

Here's a quick look @ E-Bay

You say that nothing works?? Is this the MEMORY you have___http://www.gskill.com/product/165/176/1532079168/F3-2133C10D-8GXM-Overview.
If you go into the BIOS and set the memory to DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24 1.5v. Put ONE (1) stick of memory in the SECOND (2) memory slot (A2) counting from the CPU socket. Remember - you have a weak IMC - the less memory/quantity you have the better chance of running at a higher speed.
From your Computer Spec's. You have High Performance Components strapped to a Budget Motherboard.
Here's a clip from your manual -
Supports DDR3 2400+(OC)/2100(OC)/1866(OC)/1800(OC)/1600(OC)/1333/1066. <- 533/667x2 = 1066/1333 as default speeds.
***If you adopt DDR3 2400/2100 memory modules on this motherboard, it is recommended to install them on DDR3_ A2 and DDR3_B2 slots. <- PAGE 14_SubPar #5 -> Below this it show how to install 1-4 sticks of memory.
^ If this problem just happened - had no problems for months or any upgrades - then you could be having :

A) The IMC in the CPU is broken -
B) One or more Memory Modules are bad -
C) The VRM (Voltage Regulation Module) is bad -
D) Ect..Ect..

Thank You :chair: That will be a $25.00 Consulting Fee :rofl:
