Is there realy any decision to make? I used to be an Nvidia fan, until my friend got an Ati, the 8500 should blow it away, assuming its not the new 250/400 things, they suk. If you can get an older one, it will blow any gf3 right outa the water.

yeah, but it's still a ti200, an 8500le is faster then a ti500 when both are stock, you will get a nice RAM OC, but the GPU will hold ya back. I'd still go 8500le, unless you just want to say you have a higher OC percentage....honestly I'd get the cheapest though.

get the 8500le, even if the geforce is rated at 250mhz on teh ram, so is the 8500le, and the 8500 has a better picture, and is using more efficient technology.

Radeon 9000 PRO II how about that one? its made by Gigabyte. it has a 520mem clock and 275 core clock. is it better?

Its about the same as the Ti200 but inferior to the 8500LE.

hi, i bought a gainward geforce3ti 200 128mb. i am able to hit 10k with no problem. its a good card.i recommend the geforce3 but its up to you what u wanna buy. my next card will probly be a ati.

I had the same question about a week or so ago.

I went with a Saphire9100 128MB at New egg for $85.

It was clocked at 250/200.....but it runs stable at 290/235. But I didn't get that big of an improvement OC it was 8%-9% at most.

I have a cheap ECS MB and PC133 ram, so that might be the bottleneck. I had to run my memory at 100 thus underclocking my CPU:mad:

BTW, I saw that Gainward at GF3 TI Comptergate for $83.00.
I can't find it now....looks like they replaced it with a Gainward FX5200 Ultra 128MB....for $84.95

how about the Gainward Ti550 (TI500 golden sample) for about $97???

For now The Ti550 would be better after you oc both both the GF3 and the 8500LE, but when games start using 128mb of memory the 8500 would probably have the advantage.

But the question is, will either card really be playable by the time games actually start using all 128mb?

how about these 2 which 1 should i get

Sapphire 9100 128mb with 250mhz core and 400mhz mem
or
ASUS V9520TD GeForce FX 5200 128MB with 250mhz core and 400mhz mem

the only advantage that i see is that the GeforceFX 5200 has directx9 and the Sapphire 9100 doesnt

Stay away from the FX5200. I would think the Sapphire would smoke it in a heartbeat. It might have a chance if it were a FX5200 Ultra.

i was lookin for some reviews of the Geforce FX 5200 non-ultra but i couldnt find any i could only find reviews for the Ultra 1
i thought the FX 5200 non-ultra would be a bit better than the Sapphire 9100

they are both almost the same price
