I recently bought a Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H which works great but i can only oc my athlon 445 to 4ghz on it. I want to go farther because im using a watercooling loop but i cant because that board only lets me up my ram voltage to 2.1 when theyre rated at 2.2 and i get bsod. I have an older gigabyte board, the GA-MA790X-DS4, that would allow me to give the ram the full 2.2v but i dont know if its a big downgrade from my new board. Would it be worth it to swap them out?
Thanks

If anything the older board is the better one, IMO. If nothing else the power system looks a lot more robust on the 790X, though neither have heatsinks for the MOSFETs (power chips), which is a concern when overclocking. :(

I say swap 'em ...!
