Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H cpu fan not spinning?

Using a CM V8, the rheostat is set to high (not sure I need it all though), the V8 fan connector is in CPU_FAN connection on the MOBO. Fan not spinning at all.

In the GB Easy Tune software, the rpm shows 0 and does not change. Showing system fan rpm well though.

Thoughts please.

Yessir.

And this V8 worked fine yesterday on my old ECGAx58 MOBO.

Interestingly, even without the fan spinning, the V8 is keeping the 4670K @31'C at idle.

No fan though will limit my overclocking options though, so still a problem.

Yes and yes.

Going to try the V8 direct to PSU now.

Negative; the V8 fan is dead. Major PITA to replace it too.

Ah well, I was looking at water cooling anyhow.
