Hello everyone! my first time here :)

I'm planning on making my first gaming pc. My brother gave me his old PC and I want to upgrade it as cheaply as possible.
My plan:
i3 4170
motherboard(is getting the cheapest advisable?)
GTX 960 4G 128bit
8 gigs ram
Is this good enough for GTA5, Witcher 3, Overwarch, or new games. I use a 1600x900 display monitor btw.

Where do you live?

For non-K CPU's (no overclocking), any entry level motherboard from Asrock, Gigabyte, MSI or ASUS will do the job: no need of beefy power section or passive cooling on the VRMs. As soon as the board has the features you need, you're good to go.

Get a GTX 1060 or a RX 480. Even at the resolution you use, the 960 won't cut it at ultra settings on current demanding games.
