Have you tried the sticky "Hot to .." above. It has all the info you need.
 
thanks for that mate , ive had a little look around but i work away a lot so dont get much time ,
 
Really, really, really quick'n'dirty'n'simple guide to overclocking:

1) set ram to lowest multiplier/speed possible.
2) turn the FSB up in 5mhz increments until the computer fails to boot.
3) set fsb back to the last speed it booted.
4) run stability tests, if it crashes turn fsb down 5mhz and try again. Keep close watch on the CPU temps while testing, conventional wisdom is all over the board on safe temps, personally i aim for under 60*c, given a 65nm quad core 70-75 might be more reasonable.
5) once you've found the fastest stable speed, start turning the ram back up until it fails a testing program such as memtest86.
6) set ram to the fastest speed it can pass a test or ten of memtest86.
7) party.


Just turning the FSB up doesn't change temps too much, and can't kill anything (unless, of course, you overheat horribly). You won't get nearly the overclock doing the quick'n'dirty way that you will with more time and care (and voltage), but it'll give you a general idea of what you're doing at least.
