I need a new CPU and MOBO but I've always had AMD and have been one sided until my friend showed me some other options with Intel, I will be mostly using this for Gaming, about 70% of the time/Web page design 20%/ Photoshop, Flash... CS5 Collection for the rest 10%, this is all in my current $400 budget for mobo and cpu, what will run better?

Current things I already have for this build.

MOBO > NEED NEW ONE
CPU > NEED NEW ONE
MEMORY > NEED NEW ONE - Really cheap not worried about it.
POWER SUPPLY > Corsair TX 850W
VIDEO CARD > ATI/5970/One for now
HDDs > HHD 7200rmp 500gp Seagate/ 1TB Cariar Black 7200rmp 6.0gbps
BURNERS > Lightscribe read/write/dvd/cd
SOUND DEVICE > NONE/Listen to music on my iPhone
USB > Razr mouse/wireless keyboard transmitter/brother laser printer/Logitec orbit AF webcam/ iPhone 4S (sometimes!)
O/S > Win 7 Ultimate 64bit In box

I would also go with a z68 mobo vs th P67. ASRock has been on the ball recently a Extreme 3 Gen 3 or Extreme 4 Gen 3 would work nicely.

Yeah, the i5 is the way to go right now. Though to be honest I doubt you could tell the difference while gaming.

I have to say though, I still want to get one of the FX-81xx series. I've been following rumours about it for 3-4 years now and kind of still want one. The ridiculous thing is that the performance delta really isn't that much. If you've a preference for AMD, go down that route. If it's purely down to $, well, I'd go with the Intel solution.

Go with Intel, and check to see if you have a Microcenter near you as the 2500k is $179 from there.
