That 14900K is retail packed. If you got an OEM version it would have come without all that. Now that I mention it, I don't think I see OEM CPUs so often as we did in the past. They're not supposed to be sold to end users but were an option to lower price slightly if you can find them. At least the big name sellers seem to focus on boxed now.

Did Barton even have retail pack option?
 
Don't think I ever saw that! I got mine in the cardboard box too. OEM version was cheaper which was the bigger factor then! They all look the same when installed on the mobo.
