Oof. I used to use a fast back in the day...but it's been almost a decade at this point. Windows firewall and Defender do the job for me...and I least I know MS is harvesting my data.

Avast Free Antivirus Selling User Data to Third Parties?

TLDR; Don't just click on "install", always check out the options. This is just one example of why but there are as many ways to give up data as there are free softwares. If the user isn't willing to make a minimum effort to protect themselves they shouldn't expect anyone else to do it for them.
