Is there a download query for firefox?

Is there a way I can download a single file at a time and add the next download to a query and it will start once the other finishes?

You mean a queue? A query is a request or question, such as your post.

It isn't built into the browser, as far as I know. DownThemAll will do it, and is very well written.
