i recently won a ebay auction, i didnt do my research and i think i won a non-GT, but he advertised it as a GT, i emailed him to check how many pipes it has and what core. He said if i didnt want it he could refund me.

it looks like this that is not a GT:

but he says it comes up as a GT in his system.

what do you think? is it still a good buy for a non-gt? maybe i should ask for a discount.

that's a plain old 6800.
  • the 6800gt has a massive copper heatsink (check out the other product pics on the leadtek site).
  • the 2nd pic at that ebay link clearly shows the product sticker: "PX6800 TDH".
  • note in the specs that the seller listed the memory as "Memory Clock 1000MHz (effective)". i'm guessing that means that the memory was overclocked to gt speed.
you can't unlock the pipes on a pci-e 6800nu, so it will still be 12 pixel pipelines. still, not a bad price for the card.

EDIT: oops, looks like it got confirmed as a 6800nu while i was posting.
