All of this comes to just about $2,500 with shipping. How does this build look? Im pretty sure it will be fast enough for just about anything I need and it will last a while. Also I prolly won't need to overclock anything at all maybe just a tiny bit. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks for your time.

You're not overclocking and not using SLI or crossfire so don't waste your money on high end X58 motherboards.

*RAM* First, the X58 uses tri-channel...so you need either 3x2gb or 6x2gb etc, not 2x2gb or 4x2gb etc. But even if you go with the LGA1156 that RAM is another waste of money, no need for fancy coolers or ultra tight timings. Unless you're trying to squeeze every ounce of perfromance out of your system, high end RAM is a waste.

So for motherboards, especialy if you're not OCing, don't go into anything crazy. 100 bucks will get you a solid motherboard which can run the i7 860.

That should save you some good cash, probably enough to get more SSD storage, 5970, and some other random goodies.

I would stick with the X58 platform it is slightly unneccesary, but if you wanted or neede to make a move to a hexa core you could do that on the 1366 socket and I don't see the 1156 socktt ever getting a hexa core chip.
But I am with ajrettke on changing to 6gb of ram and going to another manufacturer if your not overclocking.
