hey guys first time poster kinda stuck on this issue. i just got this rig set up with a max 6 running 4770K and two m4 ssd's. the problem comes in when i go to install the OS. if i try to boot to the optical drive i get a black screen for a few seconds and then i wind up back in the bios. my first thought was that either the disk drive or sata controller was bad. i put the iso on a flash drive and forced it to boot from there same thing happened. the os is windows 7 x64.

I'm not sure of the procedure you used to "put the iso on a flash drive", but try the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool...

And is the ODD connected to the Z87 or ASMedia SATA controller, and what's the controller mode set to in the UEFI?
