Barely creates an issue, it helps almost all the time because the CPU's rarely get hot and the fans spin slowly, actully during benchmarks running them at high speeds cooled the first stick of ram and MCH better than running them at low speeds.
 
FB-DIMM DDR2 modules run super hot. I did come across this searching on google, lol. But I have 4 sticks myself in one of my servers and they stay around 65C. They are really designed to be in datacenters where you can have lots of airflow without any regard to sound, and have a lower than ambient intake temperature.

According to the Intel specifications (page 27), FB-DIMM sticks are rated for 85C and 95C, single refresh and double refresh, respectively.
