SOLVED mic issue?

i just bought a new headset. i tried voice recorder to make sure it work fine. which it did. well, while playing bf3 with some guys last nite they said that there was something wrong with my mic. they said i sounded like darth vader lol.

any ideas why that is happening? my voice sound fine when i playback something in voice recorder.

EDIT: I just used the onboard mic port
