This is also where I believe the extra cost comes from....you are basically buying an XP of 2 or 3 speed grades up but running at a lower speed for stability. So MHz for MHz, the MP's are more expensive.

What about running a MP processor in a single board? Will it work w/o any mods? I've had a palamino core mp processor given to me, and want to use it, but don't need a dual processor system.

It will work fine and the good thing about the MP CPU's are that they are factory multiplier unlocked.
