Hello,

I'm planning to buy a new laptop.

I've concluded that my best range would be either the new MSI GF75 or the ASUS ROG G731.

Both have i7-9750, GTX 1660 ti.

But they are different in RAM & storage.

There is a seller on Amazon that sells the MSI GF75 with different configurations.

1. MSI GF75, i7-9750, GTX 1660 ti, 32GB DDR4, 256GB NVMe SSD + 2TB SSHD $1,208.78
2. MSI GF75, i7-9750, GTX 1660 ti, 32GB DDR4, 512GB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD $1,208.78
3. MSI GF75, i7-9750, GTX 1660 ti, 16GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe SSD + 1TB HDD $1,251.35

The ASUS, I found one that is in the price range for my budget:

ASUS ROG Strix G G731GU - 17.3" FHD - i7-9750H - NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti - 16GB - 512GB SSD

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are also differences in the design; for example:

The MSI has a new touch-pad location; it's near the edge of the laptop.

The ASUS, is the usual design.

Everything else is pretty much the same, the disassembly videos on YouTube for both laptops clears that they both have very good cooling system for the CPU and GPU.

What you think guys ? Which one is the best for me ?

One of my most important concerns about the MSI, is that the m.2 SSD could break easily.

My current laptop, which is Dell 7559, that came with a 256GB m.2 SSD, didn't last long before it broke. So it could be a waste.

What are your goals for the laptop? Gaming? Coding? Rendering? That will really decide which is better for you.

Also check out Newegg, seems they have a ton of configurations for the GF75

I like that the MSI comes with a backup 1TB storage drive as well, where the ASUS doesn't.

All the mentioned goals; like, these stuff .. gaming, coding, browsing .. etc.

Newegg is much more expensive than Amazon with the same hardware !

I'm thinking also of buying the 5TB seagate 2.5" for my next laptop. I don't want the 1/2 TB that come with the laptop, it won't be enough.
