Hi guys, I have a pair of N460GTX's in SLI mode (as the title suggests) and am having a bit of a heat issue with it.

background: At first I thought it was my case, a clear blue acrylic case with 4x 40mm fans. So I upgraded, my current system looks like this:

1000w seasonic 80+ Platinum PSU
Asus P6X58-E Pro Mobo
i7 960 CPU clocked at 3.72ghz
8 gigs of DDR3 2000 mhz ram
Soundblaster X-Fi
Some generic ESATA card
2x MSI N460GTX 1 gig (GDDR 5) video cards in SLI (Drivers: 285.79 Beta)

cooling:
Silverstone RV-03 case
2x 180mm fans
6x 120mm fans
custom GPU fan control set to get the fans to 100% at 65c.

Now on to my problem (if you guys want more details, let me know)

My GPU 1 gets to 90c+ and my GPU 2 gets to 68c+ after about 3 minutes in FurMark, I have tried to inverts the cards, switching their positions and get the same temps. I have also taken both heat sinks off (Twin Frozr 2's) and replaced the stock thermal paste with Arctic Silver 5 (using Arctic cleaner to remove old paste and Arctic Purifier to prep the surfaces) with no change in temps. Below are some pictures of the case and setup internally.

As you can see I did all I could to organize and keep cables out of the way. I love how this case has a compartment behind the mobo for all the cables with strategically placed holes to pass cables into your case to plug them in. And all the HD's are on the side of the case behind the mobo so your not using your front slots (into which I put fans).

So you guys have any thoughts on what could be the issue?

More info:

Fan layout and direction:

Intake:
2x 180mm Bottom Fans
3x 120mm Front Fans (2 fans on bottom 3 5.25 slots and 1 fan on top 5.25 slot, in pic you see the front fans, bottom fan has a second fan further behind in)

Exhaust Fans:
1x 120mm Top Fan
1x 120mm Rear Fan

Aux Fans:
1x 120mm Mobo/HDD fan, it's on the back side of the motherboard

I think I'm going to try to upgrade to the new 290.36 beta drivers and see if that changes anything.

Oh, and MSI kombustor gets me to 82c for GPU 1 and 59c for GPU 2. On card stock settings (780 core, 1560 shader, 1800 vRam). Apparently FurMark stresses the cards a lot more.

Ok still same results, but now Kombustor only stresses one core. I know I custom modified my Nvidia Profiles for it to use both cores in windowed mode...going to have to find that again later and recustomize it.
