I got between 1500-2000 dollars to spend on a new pc. This is what I want to put in it. I don't really now about fan controls as in whats the difference so I am still seeing which one to get. Give me advice if you think I should change something or anything. Only thing is that I want a p4 and an nvidia graphics card.

Looks good.
Couple of things.
Antec True Power 550 instead
Also wait for a bit and see if the Thermalright XP-120 will fit you motherboard.
If it will, go for a good 120mm high cfm fan and put it on there instead

What kinda case? Perfer one with 120mm in and out. Mount hard drive on floor of cae in front of 120mm intake using a piece of matting or rubber to isolate it from case.

Just my ideas.
Shameless plug - www.munichkid.com This is my old web page. Something have changed. New page coming in a few weeks

If your planning on overclocking your new rig, I would suggest a P4 2.8C CPU
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-116-161&depa=0

OCZ PC3700EB Memory
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-984&depa=0

& A Thermalright SP94 Heatsink with a nice 92mm fan

A P4 Northwood will run cooler & overclock better than a PressHot...Er...Presscott, from what I've seen here!
I'm putting together a new system myself, using a P4 2.8C.
Good Luck!

don't think my mother board can handle OCZ PC3700EB Memory. It says DDR 400 is max and the 3700 is DDR466. Unlease I am wrong :-/

EDIT: Also how much effect does cache have on your system the 2.8c has 512k and then 2.8e has 1mb

DDR 400 is for running a 200 FSB... errr.. that is an 800 FSB in intel marketing speak.

If you intend to overclock, you have to go higher than a 200mhz FSB because the multiplier is locked on intel's.

Your motherboard officially only goes as high as a 200FSB, but it will go higher, trust me.

If you wanted to do a very mild overclock, you could push your cpu up to 3.0 ghz. To do this, with a multiplier of 14 like your processor has, you would need to do about a 214 FSB, which would put your ram at 428 DDR. To go higher, you need to push your FSB up more, which will increase your ram further. If your ram is only rated for DDR400 (PC3200) then the chances of you getting to a very high FSB before your ram maxes out are pretty low. That DDR 466 Ram will gaurentee that your ram can do a 233 FSB, so if your motherboard and cpu can take it, that would give you a 3.26 .

Essentially that ram is just better if you intend to overclock.

First what 2.8 ship with be best for me? 2.8e or 2.8c? Also would you recommend the OCZ PC3700EB Memory or what else are my options, oh yeah and is that a good cpu fan or should I switch it for something else.

another question :-D what would be the max, I could put like PC4000 for example? Becuase on the mother board it says "RAM: 4x DIMM support Dual-Channel DDR400/333/266 Max 4GB" does that mean my max is ddr400?

No, there is no maximum on the speed of the ram you could put into the motherboard. Those specifications are for people who are buying parts and sticking them together with no intention to overclock. Your motherboard is rated to go at a a 200 FSB, meaning it is gaurenteed to go at least that fast. When you overclock it you will be going above the rated 200 fsb. Faster memory will be able to go to higher FSB's before they become unstable.

It sounds like you have a good start to your system, but might want to learn some more before you go buying everything. If you are intending to overclock your system, as people generally are on these forums, you need to learn a whole lot about how all the hardware works and how to overclock it.

Read everything you can find on the net about OCing and computer hardware, and read through stuff on this forum. All the information you need is out there, you just have to absorbe it.
