Motherboard is listed in sig. Latest bios is installed.
The problem is when I have USB legacy support enabled in bios I lose keyboard support during the boot up such that I can't toggle choices say between Windows and Ubuntu or between Windows Safe Mode and Normal Startup after, for instance, a BSOD. Once in Windows however, the keyboard is active.
If I disable USB legacy support the keyboard is active throughout the bootup process but my USB external drive is not recognized during the post phase and so I cannot use it as a boot device.
The keyboard is a PS2 keyboard but it makes no difference if I use it as a USB keyboard with a PS2 to USB adaptor. When legacy support is enabled it is not active during the boot up.
Any ideas to remedy this? Would using a PCI USB card be a workaround so that I could leave legacy support enabled and not lose the keyboard function during boot?
