Can you guys recommend one? I want to use an i5 CPU on it (1155)

I want to use it to install ROS on it (Robot Operating System) and i want to use 16GB of RAM on it... and want it to be less than $100

So it looks like newegg has about 4 different boards that will fit what i want.. Main difference is the North Bridge

So the options i got are:

B75, H67, and H77

This are the boards im looking at:

I dont think ill be doing any overclocking... Always been an Asus fan, but not sure if its worth it to pay $30 for it compared with the Foxconn which is $64 and has nice reviews

What you guys think?

Northbridge is on the CPU, not the board...

If you dont plan on overclocking, the B75 will be fine.

Gotcha, is there any difference between this boards then?

Any reason not to buy the cheapest one? (H67)

Older tech would be the only reason... make sure its compatible with your CPU. Im not sure about ITX board support with newer processors.

It looks like it'll support an IB, but not the built in GPU of the IB.
If you want to connect a monitor you'll need a GPU or to use a SB chip.

Here you go: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...28-567^13-128-567-TS,13-128-568^13-128-568-TS

x7x chipsets are for Ivy Bridge, while x6x chipsets are Sandy Bridge. Many boards are cross compatible, but not 100%.

Ok i guess ill make a decision based on that list... Still they are all around the same price...

Wireless is nice since ill have to add it anyways later on.. Not sure how good (range wise) and (linux support wise) is the wireless card on those GB boards... Also the Z77 is for overclocking?

Like whats the difference between B75, H77, and Z77?

B is small business focused, H is media focused, and Z is enthusiast/overclocking. All come with slightly different features.

I guess i should ask this.. any of this boards use less power than others? Since ill be running this from a battery i want it to be as power efficient as possible

Also i know it wont matter much but ill be running linux on this machine

EDIT: Seems like the TPD for all of them is 6.7W

I also had a long look at that Gigabyte itx, i picked the asrock cos i found the dual lan and wireless useless on and itx, but i bet its a great board. Be aware that if your getting aftermarket cooling and if you will be using the pcie alot then your options of coolers are limited on size. I would get and aftermarket cooler, to keep temps down and lower rpm on fan, less power use :)
