So I finally decied to OC my i5-6600k CPU. This is my first time overclocking, and I'm planning on seeing how far I can go without bringing the voltage more than around 1.35. I've seen its common to get 4.5ghz around 1.30 voltage, but I know results may vary between each individual processor. I started with bring the stock 3.5ghz to 4.0ghz. My voltage at stock speeds (3.5ghz) was auto set at 1.104 on the MSI Click 5 BIOS . I left my voltage on auto when I brought it up to 4.0ghz and the voltage was auto set to 1.20. Then I brought my voltage down to 1.15 still at 4.0ghz. I've been running Prime95 for about 2 hours now and still going. I didn't change any of the settings of the test when launching it and been running on default. And my cpu temperatures while stress testing is around 43/44 C. Should i be concerned with my voltage being too low or too high for the OC at 4.0ghz? Or is this about normal? How long should I run the Prime95 test for after I change the voltage and clock speeds? Should I change any settings for the test on Prime95?

Update: Ran Prime95 for about 3 hours with CPU speed 4.0ghz at 1.15 voltage. No errors or problems. Set my CPU to 4.2ghz with voltage still at 1.15. Running Prime95 as default still.

Update#2: 4.2GHz at 1.16 and 1.17 voltages had Core 4 failing at the start on Prime95. Now wondering if its fine to set me cores at different speeds?

Update#3:Think I got 4.2GHz stable at 1.20 Voltages. Tried for 4.5GHz turned my voltages to 1.22, 1,23,1.24, 1.25,1,28,1.30,1.32, 1.33, 1.34, and 1.35. All failed on Prime95 in two minutes. Core 4 is the one failing from the start. Tried running Aida64, and it ran for 7 hrs at 4.5GHz at 1.25 voltages. Is this weird that i went .15 voltages up for .3GHz boost and failed immediately still? And is "passing" Aida64 after a 7 hour run okay, but immediately passing prime95? I have Override Mode enabled, C-State disabled, Turbo Boost disabled, and EIST disabled. Might try to lower voltages down to 1.24 at 4.5GHz and run Aida64 again.

P95 is much harder than aidia.

I dont do 48hours of p95 anymore like i used to back in the day but i like @ least 5 hours .
I find I can pass aidia and realbench all day then play cs go and then crash .
