You are wise not to put your CPU on 1.8V ;) It might make your P4B adventure quite short ;)

To clarify: the B indeed indicates a 533 Bus (133 MHz quad pumped).

If you are just starting out, looking to get the system up and running, and are not caring to overclock yet, I'd say: just start out with the latest official Abit release, i.e. the 7C. This has all the support needed to run the P4B, and won't get you in any trouble with Abit should something go wrong with your board (as it is the official Abit one).

For voltage when starting out, just set it to default.

Good luck, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask

Hello all,
Currently, I am running the 'Official 7c' Bios from Abit. I'd like to upgrade, but I don't want to see the dreaded C1 POST error again. I am using the Kingston PC1066 and getting this error will mean a search for PC800 Memory to get my system running again. Do any of the modded Bios' fix this problem?

Also, Abit has a beta bios listed:
http://fae.abit.com.tw/download/beta/th7-ii/th7h231.zip The only change listed is for the 2.31 Raid Support. I have no idea if anything else has been changed. Maybe someone could take a peak.

Is anyone else using Kingston PC1066 memory on this board?

Thanks,
