A good friend of mine is looking to upgrade.
He uses nis pc for FPS games primarily Americas Army. He currently has this system.
Dell 4700
3.0 p4
1gb of ram
x850pro 256mb

He is looking at this dell system
( Yes I know he could probably do better on his own but an OEM system is better for him and for me I don't want to have to support it 24/7)

Dimension E521 AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+ Desktop + 19" LCD for $529
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+
1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz- 2DIMMs
160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache
16x DVD+/-RW Drive
19 inch E197FP Analog Flat Panel
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Integrated Graphics GPU
Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio

First off , will this be a noticable upgrade for him ?
Second , what video card should we get to add to it ?

I would try to get a 8600 series card for that system when they launch around mid april.

good starter system, im trying to get my girlfriends dad to buy that for his new home desktop

I realize it is not a super high end system but would it be a noticable difference over the one he has ?

Make sure to upgrade the power unit too.

That CPU may cause a slight bottleneck.

If the cpu is the bottleneck how about these upgrades ?
