Hello I am really new to overclocking and using gaming PCs but i have a want to learn how to overclock and improve things on my PC.

I have these specs:

AMD quad core FX 4300
Nvidia GeForce GT 730 with 2 GB video RAM
8 GB of RAM
Windows 10 home

OVERCLOCK PROGRAM: MSI Afterburn

I want to know if:

1. Its safe to do

2.How should i go abnout it

3. And what setting are best so i dont kill my PC

i really do want to find out so any help is nice.

Is there a way to check i just got this thing and i dont know much on it i know the motherboard is a Micro-ATX by MSI and on its books cover says military class 2. Though i got this PC as a gift so....I am still learning. And the power core is only 350 watts im going to upgrade when i get the cash.

The motherboard should have the model number written on it in large letters/numbers.
Also, you can load CPUz to check.

Can you get the manufacturer/model off the power supply?

I would suggest not overclocking on that motherboard for a few reasons.

- It is only a 4+1 VRM
- It has no heatsink on the VRM
- MSI and FX have a history of burning VRM's when overclocked
