:burn:I'm a complete noob to oc'ing anything other than using ATI OD for my video card! I just got:
Gigabyte GA-P43T-ES3G motherboard
Intel Q9400 quad core 2.6 ghz
16 GB G. Skill F3-10666-8GBSR 9-9-9-25 @1.5V
Zalman CNPS9500 AT2 cpu cooler
Enermax Galaxy 1000W PSU (way too many cables on this thing!)
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 gb graphics card (OC'd to 850/1250)

I'm looking to mainly use this to play games with and would appreciate any help in tuning this setup! I've read and printed out the overclocking guide, but I'd like to see what kind of settings others have used on their quad cores.

thanks!

lots of ram

Yeah, it was fairly cheap (160 bucks) so I figured why not try it out! I'm having lots of problems trying to get my rig past even a slight OC right now. I can't get above 400 mhz cpu fsb no matter what else i try.

Quad core Q9400 2.6 Ghz
Gigabyte mobo GA-P43T-ES3G
G. Skill Sniper F3-10666-8GBSR total 16 GB
600 Watt PSU
Zalman CNPS9500 AT2 CPU cooler
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1gb video card

This is the best that I can get right now.

CPU Multiplier 8.0
Fine tuning 0.5
FSB 400 mhz
Vcore 1.2875 (tried raising it up to 1.3200 without any better results) set to Auto
MCH set to 333 with SPD set to 2.4D

Any recommendations on what I should try next? I've run Prime95 on these settings and don't go above 63C.
