I currently have the Source 210 with 1 rear exhaust, 1 top exhaust (gentle typhoon 1850rpm), and one side intake (gentle typhoon 1850rpm). I just ordered three Cougar CF-V12s (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553006#top). I was wondering how I should go about setting up the fans now. Which of the following would be better based on my system or if you want to suggest a different setup for the fans altogether.

my rig
~~~~~
cpu - i7 970 oc 4.0ghz 1.24v (liquid cooling)
gpu - gigabyte 7870ghz oc 1200/1450 1.219v
ram - g.skill ripjaws ddr3 3x4gb 1600mhz
mb - ASUS P6X58-E Pro
hdds - 2x 128gb ssd raid 0
setup 1
_______
1x rear exhaust
1x top (gt 1850) exhaust
2x front (cougars) intake
1x bottom (cougar) intake
0x side, heard fanless sides can sometimes be better
setup 2
_______
1x rear exhaust
1x top (gt 1850) exhaust
2x front (cougars) intake
1x bottom (cougar) intake
1x side (gt 1850) intake
Any input is very much appreciated.
Hi, I have read that it is best to have more exhaust cfm's then you have intake. At room temp, you need 53 cfm's (that is actual flow through the chassis and not the free air rating of the fan) to keep 500watts at 37c. Placing your fans inline will increase your cfm's through your case, but could have dead spots. I would go with setup 2 assuming that your 2 exhaust fans are pushing more air out than your 3 intakes.
I just replaced this case with a Corsair C70...its a nice case for the value.
I would use full amount of fan spots, imo.
1 rear - exhaust
2 top - exhaust
2 front - intake
1 side - intake
bottom - intake (optional)
this scenario gives you the same amount of exhaust as intake.
