Been looking forward to this for a long time! I will definitely be watching.
:)

I will be updating our twitter feed with live updates from the session, so keep an eye out for that (@overclockerscom).

should be fun, and was a long time coming. good luck. I hope to be there also.

And now with voltage tweaks for the GPU, oooh baby! I'm expecting at least one record on that card outa you (shouldn't be that tough either)!

It's not going to be EASY, that's for sure. Top Vantage result is with an i7 920 at 4.6GHz. Hope this thing holds together tonight.

With the new software, I think Vantage / 06 just made it a bit higher on the priority list.

By the way guys...I'm going to be trying for an 8:30 start time, but don't expect it. It will depend on getting the kiddo into bed. Once he zonks out, I'm running right upstairs.

Wonder if I can crush the DICE before putting him in bed around dinner...would it sublimate too quickly? Planning on grabbing 7lbs and will bench 8:30~11:30. If I crush it ~6:30-6:45, will it sublimate too quickly before 8:30? Just trying to save some time if possible. If not, I can always crunch it up right after putting him down.

Get up around 5.2ghz with all six and you can take down that i7.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do because I have the same mobo and proc coming and a set of the mushkin redlines. Good luck I'll stop by for sure. Hopefully one of the 2 1090T's i have will do decently. We'll be able to compare vantage. I have 2 6870's comin also so I'll pop one in for a good comparison.

On the note of crushing I'm sure if you left decent sized chunks you will be alright. What kind of container are you using? I had a styrofoam container to carry medical samples that needed to be frozen and it would last 24 hours in pellet sized chunks. it would be totally gone about 30 hours storing it this way.

Uhhh. DUUUUUUUUUDEEEEEEEE

I have to study for a test tomorrow. I'll try to be there and help out as much as I can.

I'll be watching for sure... This will be my 1st time watching someone freeze their computer so it should be fun.... Just gotta remember to set my HD Box to record tonight's episod of T.U.F so I can watch that after this session is done.

With only 7 pounds, I would wait. Not that it would be that quick, but benching a tri-core, I went through 10 pounds in 6 hours. So a hexa-core at 7 lbs puts you theoretically at just over two hours of benching, and that doesn't include cooling the pot down.

I'll definitely be there though!

Went all right. The only loss really is the CPUz validations. It tells me that the dumps are corrupted, which is funny b/c the screenshots took and saved just fine. Will post results as soon as I'm able. Might not be tonight though.

I have issues with CPUZ dumps all the time with stripped OS...could be that you had an unstable OC and the validation could not go through
