I have read the stickies on Overclocking for Bloomfields. I made a thread a while back and was thinking to start a fresh new thread as my last post I wanted to work with a 3rd party OC utility but from what I was told I was better off going through the Bios. So I decided to start fresh and forget the 3rd party utility.

My cpu is a i7-950 on a Asus Sabertooth X58 with Corsair XMS3 1333 mhz 6gigs (7-7-7-20 1.65v; TR3X6G1333C7). My cpu cooling is H20.

I then went into the bios and made these changes:

CPU Freq: 4002 mhz
Dram Freq: 1047 mhz

OC: Manual
Ratio: 23
Speedstep: Disabled
BCLK Freq: 174
PCIE Freq: 100
DRAM Freq: 1047 mhz
UCLK Freq: 2093
QPI Link Data rate: Auto

CPU Volt: 1.31250
CPU PLL: Auto
QPI/Dram Core: 1.35
IOH Volt: 1.18
IOH PCIE Volt: Auto
ICH Volt: Auto
ICH PCIE Volt: Auto
Dram Bus Volt: Auto
...... the rest is auto etc

I had the vcore @ 1.30 and booted up fine. Ran Prime and hit a BSOD (0x0000003b). So I did some research and was told to most likely up the cpu voltage. I bumped the cpu volt. to 1.31250 and after running prime 95 for a few mins during its cooldown from 100%, at 90% I than get a BSOD (0x000000fc). I than went back to default. I use BlueScreenView so if anyone wants to see the dump files, let me know. Thanks.

Thanks alot for the post.

P.S.- I also forgot to add that my rig has a GTX 480 SC x2 in SLI if anyone didn't see that in my signature so I don't know if that changes anything in those settings.

I ran the settings earlier yesterday. Booted up no problem until my BSOD during my prime95 (large FFTs / Ram) which was only running for less than 2 mins. I'am not sure what to do next but believe I need to up my CPU Voltage but want to make sure. Also my temps were avg. 60c as my highest on a core was 63c max till the BSOD. Any suggestions redduc900 would be appreciated.

Both the 0x3B and 0xFC errors are driver related, so I'd probably start looking at that first, starting w/ the videocard drivers.

Thanks. I had issues in the past with the Drivers and finally got it stable for the last few months. Looks like I'll be looking to Reformat my drive to start out fresh on this one as I uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers, every possible way and at times still seem to be an issue. Thanks again and will post back once I get a fresh copy going.

Edit: In the past I had more 116s than anything else since dec '11 and the 3b/FC since last month. Fixed the 116 when I rolled back the drivers and than updated them recently.

If thats a stock h20 with just one fan ! You will be running very hot!!

Oh no, not at all. I used to use a H50 untill I went custom H20 since January. Check my signature.
