Hi. I have red few tutorials about OC sandy bridge and I would like to try my first OC therefore I have bought SPC Fortis Cooler to my CPU (50$ i think).

I heard two versions. One said only change Multipler and VCore and other gave me those parameters:

- Spread Spectrum - OFF
- Vdrop (LLC) - HIGH
- System Agent Voltage - 0,925V
- CPU IO (VTT, VCC IO) - 1,05V or leave at default AUTO
- CPU PLL - 1,8V or leave at default AUTO
- PCH Voltage - 1,05V or leave at default AUTO
- DRAM Voltage - max 1,65V or leave at default AUTO
- Internal PLL Overvoltage - ON
- EIST - OFF
- Inter Turbo Boost - OFF
- DRAM Freqency - 1600
- XMP - ON
- LONG/SHORT/ duration power limit - 200

CPU features:
- Execute Disable BIT - ON
- Intel Virtual Tech - ON
- Limit CPU IO Max - OFF
- Overspeed protection - OFF
- C-State - ON
- Package C-State limit - no limit

I would be very thanfull for all comments and sugestions. Thanks in advance.

Oh, I would like to go somewhere in 4,0-4,5 GHz.

Moved to the Intel CPUs forum... redduc900

Just up your multiplier and increase vcore voltage when it wont boot or run stable.

Don't go over 1.40v vcore.

I have just jumped on 4,0ghz with 1,2V....

but almost all voltages on auto. Seemed steady on Prime95 but I had one or two turn-off's before Win login, then restored default, then again made setup as on images.

I made this Windows 7 benchmark and i had 7,6 on 4ghz while before i had 7,5 on 3,3ghz. Is that all right?

One more thing. As you can see there are some options that suddenly disapeard in CPU Features (Core1,...Core4, Short/Long duration power limit). They show up again if restart to default.

Last question. Is it normal that my max TDP i 95 watts (as seen on this picture with GPU-Z)?

Ok, so far I got on [email protected], [email protected]. Didn't run much Prime95, I will tommorow. If it keeps steady do you think to try go down with Voltage?

I did Cinebench 11.5 benchmark and I see improvement.
@3.3 GHz, ~51.5 fps OpenGl, 5.25 pts CPU
@4.0 GHz, ~58.3 fps OpenGl, 6.33 pts CPU
@4.5 GHz, ~63.8 fps OpenGl, 6.96 pts CPU
Is this improvement ok for this OC?

Your doing fine, just keep tweaking and see what you can do. 95 TDP is normal for SB.

4.0 GHz you should be able to do that with stock voltage.

Tell me just one thing.
Should I turn on EIST, Intel Turbo Boost and C1E now? Will it be ok?

[email protected], had an error in Prime95.
[email protected], over an hour in Prime95 with no errors. Later I'm going to make a longer test but now I want to play some Doom3. Can game like this show CPU unstability?

I would wait till it's stable before you turn on EIST and C1E

Turbo Boost can be on any time, when you overclock it bypasses Turbo Boost settings
settings.

Some games help to test, i would not count on one game.
