OC i5 with original air cooler

What is the max GHz one can get using the boxed cooler which came with CPU? (of if you can recommend one <50$ cooler).

It should be able to run on 100% for 24 hours/day (3d rendering)

Not sure but the i5 stock cooler is the smallest, most unimpressive cooler I've ever seen included with a retail processor from intel. I wouldn't even think about it unless you use an aftermarket cooler.

yea no kidding!! that was just to see what i could do on the stock POs intel calls a cooler. No way near 24/7 on it, yet! not until i get my water block from jab-tech.

those temps would have been much higher with a full cpu load, the superpi instance you ran was only one thread, each core was only loaded for ~25%.

+1 it's really bad with anything but stock settings.

Even a $20 after market cooler would be an improvement.
