Thoughts on this setup (Yes it's overkill) but damn if it isn't nice ;P

Any things you would chose differently (objectivly of cause as ROG brands are obviously a matter of taste)

Motherboard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI CODE

GPU: ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Ti ROG STRIX OC - 11GB

RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB DDR4-3200 C16 QC - 32GB x 4 8GB sticks

NVME SSD: Samsung 970 PRO SSD M.2 2280 - 512GB x 2 (Raid 0)

CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K

CPU cooler: Asus ROG RYUJIN 360

Case: ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 - Black

PSU: ASUS ROG Thor 850P

Alternative TP: Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut 32x32 (Might just stick with the preapplied.

*Disclaimer
It is thanks to my lovely wife that I have the budget that I have and she told me to go all out (Watercooling the whole rig comes later)

Looks good overall.. you paid more than you needed to for names/bling, but... looks good.

Indeed, I even tried to save a few bucks on the MB but my wife said I might as well go all or nothing, so yeah, it's gonna look great on the desk as well. But I am overly excited to get the parts and start building! Kingdom Come, here I come! ;P

Schweet!!!!!!!! Post up pics when built!

Yeah, that will be a beast for sure. Hopefully you are rocking a 2560x1440 monitor for that beast GPU!

Awesome! Same here bro. Wifey approved the budget for my upcoming build and I’m going as HAM as possible.

Question - why 4 sticks of RAM vs 2?

Definitely post pics of that build in its ROG RGB Glory!

Awesome!

The 4 sticks vs 2 is just for the added RGB/bling factor! ;P

Though a question regarding the RAM if anyone knows;

At the vendor site, for that particular set of RAM sticks, it says (AMD edition) Is that something I should worry about? Because on all the other identical RAM sticks (same brand, make) it does not. So it's just my paranoia thinking if there is some hardcoding in them making them problematic with Intel systems? Or if they are just corrected for the Ryzen error there where but still work on both chipsets?

Okay, it seems like I would have to go with G.SKILL F4-3200C16Q-32GTZR Trident Z RGB Series 32 GB Sucks to have to say goodbye too Dominator and or Vengeance because the lighting/RGB in the supported versions of the MB does not have those effects I want. So unless I want to find a nice looking MB that supports CMW16GX4M2C3200C16 I am "stuck" with G-skill, they are nice looking as well though.

Update

Parts are now ordered, though I had to order the cooler from another vendor, sooo that means I will most likely get all the parts tomorrow except the cooler, which is scheduled for Monday... The wait is gonna be agonizing!

Upon further investigation I have come to peace with the tridents, they are gonna complement the build well.

Hey Max,

I went with the Tridentz, but thanks for the info on those sticks :D

Update:
Parts have arrived, now I just have to wait for the Ryujin... Painful to have it all sit here. ;P

Today another little bonus item arrived so I can mount the GPU vertically. Still waiting on the cooler though.

And the cooler has arrived, even 2 days before scheduled! So I will get to building and post pics of the project at the end :)

So I got the system put together last night, here is some pics of the process and the end result. But I will post later with some scores and stuff when I have it all set up as I want it :)

Okay so I ran some 3DMark and Cinebench and noticed something odd. When I enable (Stealth Mode) in Bios which basicly disables all RGB lighting I get a higher Cinebench score (arround 400'ish points) compared to when I run with all RGB on, is this a common thing and to be expected? I know the difference is negligible in real world computing but I am just curious as to why it might happen.

Running XMP II With Sync all cores at 5Ghz

(All temps are within normale ranges, 29-34c idle - 65-71c load)

Here are some pics:

Just ran Cine again and this time even lower score (still with RGB enabled)

Makes me suspect some power mannagement yada yada somewhere, that might interfer.
