So does anyone besides herbal'|' actually have this stuff to test it out?

I can give some more information about this RAM now that mine has sold. The PC3000 will run at 183MHz, but only with the lowest timings. I mean CL2.5 with it set on normal. With it set at CL2 and turbo, It wouldn't even do 150. My Crucial PC2100 would do 160MHz at CL2 and Turbo, this gave me much better scores in Sandra and 3dMark than the PC3000 at 183MHz with the lower timings. I would definately not recommend this RAM to anyone. I am going to replace mine with Kingmax 5ns PC2700. I can comment on its performance when I receive it in about a week.

PC2700 DDR2 Ram is currently the fastest ram on the planet thats backwards compatible with DDR. Currently, only certain oem distributers and cad class administrators can get ahold of these nice batches of ram.

My DDR Ram can run @ 166MHz with CL2. At 150MHz, I can use an even faster mode which gives me a CL1.3 rating, with assigning the ram timings to Ultra instead of Turbo.

At the time, I paid $309 CAN per stick which isnt too too bad.

No, no!, OCZ PC3000 Ram is 5.5ns which means its garuanteed to be stable @ 366MHz CL2.5.

5ns = PC3300 CL2.5 DDR-Ram
5.5ns = PC3000 CL2.5 DDR-Ram
6ns = PC2700 CL2.5 DDR-Ram
7.5ns = PC2100 CL2.5 DDR-Ram
10ns = PC1600 CL2.5 DDR-Ram

Now, most brand name ram companies offer higher performance ram with lower latencies which have better timinigs and ratins,

4.5ns = PC3300 CL2???
5.5ns = PC2700 CL2
7ns or 7E = PC2100 CL2
8ns = PC1600 CL2

Hope this helps!

This DDR Ram thing is getting crazy. I have Crucial PC2100, OCZ and Corsair PC2400. It all ran 167MHz+ at cas 2. The OCZ and Crucial run 8,8,7,2,7,2,2 at this speed, the Corsair 8,8,4,3,7,2,3

OCZ PC3000 is definately NOT 5.5ns. If it were and what you said was true, AtomicGuY, then it would be able to do 166MHz at CL2. At CL2, it can barely do 150MHz. In my opinion it's just overclocked 7.5 or 7ns, because my Crucial PC2100 can handle more than it can. Does anybody have any links to these certain OEM distributors? I've been looking for that DDRII, but can't find any.

I have it from the source that in fact, OCZ pc3000 is 7.5ns hand picked chips. They had some nanya 6ns chips which were so-so as well, but that was labeled ddr333/pc2700. In addition I have the -05 kigmax parts and CTSPD reads them as 6ns not 5ns.

CTSPD reads the speed of the chips from the northbridge, not the RAM itself. So therefore unless you have a chipset that supports DDR333, which right now is pretty much limited to the ALi Magik1, it can't be trusted as a true representation of the RAM's chip speed. I believe that the Kingmax is true 5ns RAM, I have ordered some, but it has not arrived yet. Who wants to bet that it will be leaps and bounds ahead of the OCZ PC3000 that, thankfully, I sold two days ago.

To be PC-3000 shouldnt it run at 200fsb ?

Or have I oversimplified things.

I think it should use at least 5ns chips to be PC-3000 although again my gesimated calculations may be out.

NO NO NOO

PC 2100 = 2x8x133
PC 2700 = 2x8x168
PC 3000 = 2x8x187

so here u go u get 1600=2x8x100 its ddr formula for all speeds and btw the 300 mhz stuf is BS !for futher information read

DDRII will not be publicly available until 2003 according to several "in the know" places.

That's what I was under the impression of as well, but lately, I've been reading on different forums how people have bought it already. I was just curious, oh well, I bought my Kingmax PC2700 5ns today, so it really doesn't matter anymore.

How am I not surprised? OCZ has always been faking things for years. That's why you can be banned for even mentioning their store at hardforum.com, anandtech.com, and many other forums :).
