port forwarding in XP SP2

I have a few friends who use the firewall in winxp SP2 and since I just use my routers firewall, I have no idea what to tell them, could someone point me to a guide or faq or something so I can help them

With no Router or NAT device there is no need to forward ports.

well, the problem is that they cannot connect to my ftp server, and i was thinking it might be a problem with the SP2 firewall

they may need to create an exception for ftp in the firewall rules, although I would expect that XP would throw up a alert box when they try to initiate the connection. The exceptions can be set through the firewall icon in control panel. You can also turn logging on there to see if it is the firewall that is blocking their connections
