my system:
a7n8x (1.04), xpM 2600+, 2x256 XMS pc3200, 9800pro

my brother's system:
a7n8x (2.0 - newegg refurb), xp2400+, 2x256 crucial pc2700, 4200ti

assuming the refurbished rev 2.0 (arrived with bios 1007 chip) turns out hunkydory, it should be possible to just swap out the mobos from the pcs, right? both have the 1007 bios, both running forceware 3.13...

the only bad thing is that the 1.04 board has the upgraded cooling on the NB and SB....

after i get the rev 2.0 system up and running, i'll throw the pc3200 in there and see how far i can push that mobo/ram combo.... if it hits fsb 210 or more, i'll consider swapping. otherwise it's hardly worth it.

If you swap out exact boards...you should have no issues with windows...the only major difference between the 1.04 and rev 2.0 is the 2.0 has the ultra chipset...offically supports 400Mhz...while the 1.04 does NOT...

I'd still recommend reformat and reinstall with any mobo changes... Plus you installing the latest UDP and other drivers on a CLEAN system is always a good thing....
