Hey guys,so after my parents have had there mac for about 9 years now my dad after ALOT of convincing, might be ready to go back to pc,after years of explaining how much better it is (for our uses) and since my moms birthdays coming up he said he might be willing to try it,basically the budget is 500 dollars for the build, Monitor etc are not included, OS i'm not sure how to go about yet, Although I want a genuine copy unlike mine, haha. Anyway the case has to be small, thinking of hiding it behind the monitor. this computer will be used for basically web browsing and has to hold over 16,000 songs from itunes (which my dad thinks takes up ALOT of space  ) also it must be QUIET since my dads so used to the macs quietness, now I need your guys advice on how to go with this. Three ideas I currently have. 1. APU 2. Intel G3258 or something along those lines. 3. Amd quad core and maybe a tiny GPU for my moms "hard to run games" on the mac such as candy crush and whatever else she plays. This computer needs to Last them many years, Thinking maybe 240gb SSD in this build but I'm curious to see what your guys ideas are! I've been having such a trouble picking out a case,as I do with any cases for any build.

motherboard and CPU are ok for everyday web browsing, you don't need an ssd, save yourself some money and get this

It's faster than a traditional HDD and cost less than an SSD, 1TB SSHD would hold a whole lot more than 16000 song too :)

This card should be good enough for some light gaming

For the case, i would go with this one here, not the best mini ITX case out there but it small, it cheap and it work, your call

You might as well get a 750 GPU as it's only a little more but is the latest Maxwell architecture. Or just try out the integrated video first. The Nvidia GPUs do better at decoding video (largely in VDPAU post processing), but probably not worth paying for when old people often don't have the eyesight to tell the difference. (And when they grew up with VHS as cutting edge technology, even 720p would look like magic in comparison!)

Something like an i3 or i5 would be a reasonable starting point.

I would be getting an APU for this and running on integrated.

After clicking many times to see the hardware (list what it is! :)), I also agree with an APU and integrated graphics setup. I also think an SSD is a good thing as well. Grab a 120GB SSD for OS and some apps, and another HDD for storage.

I would get a different SSD though, 840/850 Evo (whatever is cheaper) would be my choice.

At school so don't have enough time and it's a pain to look at on the phone, and if i'm going to use the same cpu I have i'll just give them mine and throw in an ssd psu case etc,and it has to be very quiet, the quieter the better. Would 240 gb be enough? I'll have to check how much storage the mac has, because they'll never use more room then they use on the mac.
