Does that old PSU have any markings, what brand is it? If it is a Delta, I see no problems.

actually it is 200W

DELL
MODEL PS-5201-7D
REV L04
DC OUTPUT 200W

22A ON +5
1.2A ON +5(FP) ???
6A ON +12
14A ON +3.3

Combined power on +3.3V and +5V rails not to exceed 140W

i think i am good!

and what do you think of my case?

also i may make it a dedicated (but slow) folder so donations?!?!?!

i read the requirements and i will not be able to meet them...

no this is not an microATX board but yes i have test fitted it and wont require any modification

but it is sooo tight but i will have enough room to put everyting in there and have a secure mounting system... TWIST TIES HERE I COME!!!... LOLJK

ok i have most of the parts except for ram and hdd, and power switches

here is how i plan to do it

===========
(i will be using a LOT of wood for mounts)
(no metal shop available)
Mother board mounting
*edit*
Step 1: Cut two strips of wood that stretch the entire length of of the box
Step 2: Mount the strips onto the back of the motherboard
Step 3: Insert motherboard and wood mounts into the case
Step 4: Screw into the side of the case and into the wood to securely mount the mother board inside the case

*edit*
It will actually be a little bit skew because it is just a little to big to sit flush
(but if this works i may mod it and put my current rig inside of it)
(dont want to risk it at the moment)its all i got

well... im off to go cut some wood!

well... back from cutting wood and let me tell you

ITS TIGHT in two ways!!!

im still not sure how im gonna fit everything in there i.e. cables for switches

there is NO space between my cd drive and my psu

and maybe a half-inch between the psu and my expansion slots... oh well guess no wi-fi... yet

umm... i have no camera at the moment but once i get one i will be able to show you each step of the build process

some more design pics in paint

phew.... i told you it was tight and that is pretty much it for now

actually i was planning on throwing in a cathode (or 2!)

but...
i have redisigned it and i seem to get more space

caseproject5.jpg

so i believe once my dad brings the drill home i can start by mounting the motherboard since that is the ONLY place it will fit and then i believe i will mount the hdd onto the back of the cd drive and then have a fan blowing over that and then for the cathode(s)

one mounted to the lid and then one mounted to the bottom

*note*
The case is i would say probably 80% opaque so you cant really see the internals except for what is going to have a gaping hole but it would look very cool with a/some cathode(s) because the light would scatter on the surface and light up the entire box!!!!

not any my dad still hasnt brought his drill home and i am waiting on ram
BUT

i just got a hdd today!

20.4 gb maxtor

*edit*

i am still looking for some pc2700 (ddr333) a 512 stick would be prime
im looking for some cheap deals or freebies from people i know

I called Best Buy and Fry's for memory

pc2700
512mb

Bestbuy - $65.99
Frys - $50-$60

wow...
im always buying online!!!

but i am still hunting for a deal on ram (and trying to get the money to buy it)

At least online, limited funds can go a bit further. I always feel like sales people are trying to voilate my wallet in stores.

Its a shame memory that is not in demand can sometimes be more expensive to buy new than the faster current memory.

To that end, do you know of any vendors you might find at local computer shows that are selling that memory you need used? I think it might be worth checking out for you.

i may be able to get ahold of my sisters camera if not i can borrow my buddies
camera

and my dad needs to bring his drill home so i can get everything mounted and at least show a post screen

umm just an update

i have recieved an order for a computer and this seems (motherboard and proc) perfect so this project may be put on hold
