i'm having very similar (if not identical) issues and have been trying to get to the bottom of it for a few weeks.

i'm not overclocking at all. my build is...

MOBO > ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 (BIOS: AMI V.: 2501 - 04/08/2014)
CPU & Cooler > AMD FX-9590 | CoolMaster Seidon 120M
MEMORY > G.SKILL Ares Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3 1866
POWER SUPPLY > Antec High Current Gamer 900W
VIDEO CARD > XFX Double Dissipation R9-290 4GB
HDDs/Optical drives > System: Silicone Power S60 240GB, Optical: LG Black 14X BD-R
SOUND DEVICE > On-board
O/S > Win 7 Ultimate
Case > Antec Three Hundred Two
Fans > back: in - 120mm radiator * top: in - 140mm* right: in - 120mm cpu * left: out - 120mm gpu

always freezes about 5 -15 mins after boot. no temp anywhere gets above 50C

i'm troubled by the fact asus says this is a 140W MB...

More cooling to start with. 120 just doesn't cut it with the big dawg

You need better cooling, period. 120mm AIOs need not apply.

Zerolord i got a message saying you were replying to my post
So first a disclaimer i have no skills with overclocking and limited skills with hardware so take this at your own discretion.

What worked for me was

1) clear cmos ( the jumpers are on the bottom of the board near the middle ( really awkward spot))
2) go into bios click exit/advanced mode
3) go into advanced mode
4) click exit again
5) select load optimized defaults
6) save and reload

In red = undervolt hang. Processor didn't receive requested power input needed at a certain clock interval.

I wouldn't buy into a Sabo for this processor. Since I've had both the formula z and Sabo, there's a lot that makes these two boards completely different.

What really matters is big volts and nice cool temps. 50c is a great temp, but if you where running required p-state voltage, you'd have much worse temps.

It's a great chip to leave at stock if using packed with AIO cooler or 120.1 AIO cooler.

If you guys aren't running a custom loop and have access to a chiller near by, don't expect an overclock.

1.5250v. If you can cool this voltage. It will overclock.
