So, I'm not that active anymore here...but I finally upgraded my 2600k to a 1700X! I'm awaiting a waterblock for the AM4 , but in the interim I bought an el cheapo ThermalTake Contac Silent 12 for the 1700X until the new waterblock arrives. I was curious of how the HSF would perform in push vs pull.

Settings:
Stock vCore, stock fan settings (on CPU1 fan header), OC'd to 3.7ghz. All under a prime95 load
Pull: (pulling air into HS) 47 C
Push: (blowing onto HS) 43 C

I was honestly surprised to see a difference (let alone 4 C).

So anyway, if you wondering, just make sure your fan blows and blows toward the case exhaust (I think!...I don't really have a normal case).

Cheers and keep in cool.
