I have a supermicro X8DAi, and have only just discovered that the various fan pwm options in the BIOS merely set the fans to a static 25%, 50%, 75% PWM response, so do not reaction at all in response to temperature.
What I'm looking for is a fan controller board that I can plug the CPU fans into which I can then control from Windows and have truly temperature responsive cooling. This computer is accessed remotely, so physical switches and dials are not possible.
