Im not familliar with this chip and putting together a toy machine w/ scrap parts.

I feel like its not 2.8ghz as it says considering it running at 1890mhz am i missing something or just a moron today?

Im not going to call you a moron, but it is a very common thing. Its hte power saving features dropping the multiplier. Have you tried putting a load on the CPU, say with Prime95 (Torture test, small FFT)? If not, do it, and watch the multi and clockspeed jump back up while in use.

Hit it with prime95 didnt notice it jump at all Warpspeeder shows me at 3.3ghz

No clue what warpspeeder is... What does CPUz say at idle and load?

Have you tried disabling speedstep, CIE/EIST?

Does that motherboard even support 266Mhz FSB Processors? Update the bios or go to MFG website to see if that chip is supported.

full load only goes to 1890.5 at best then drops to .4

still running absolutely no change

Been looking for em in this horrid Bios but i mean the cpu for what it is performs fairly well thats why im confused sure its not my i5 but this thing isnt half bad for a parts machine.
