I'm putting a VGA Silencer on my 9800PRO 128MB. Will that cooler be sufficient for me to be able to use higher than 9800XT stock speeds while still cool?

I also found some vga memory heatsinks that i can use, they cost $10 (aluminum), or there are copper ones for $4 more ($14) and what would I use to put them on if i didn't use the tape?

would these work?, or are they unnecessary?

And does anyone have a guide to installing the VGA Silencer on a 9800PRO 128MB?

I'm using the old VGA Silencer on mine and the core overclocks to 468. You should be able to hit stock 9800xt clocks with no problem. No guide is necessary as it comes with instructions.

if you're going to use ramsinks, you should use the copper ocz ramsinks rather than the aluminum.

be careful with it though. mine has a ati silencer 3 on it and barely tops out at 433 mhz. depends a lot on the core you got. r360's dont seem to like going super high, but any vga silencer is more than enough to cool this card to xt clocks. ramsinks arent really nessisary unless you have memory that will clock higher than 380 mhz. most dont, but it certainly DOESNT hurt to try.

those ocz sinks are really nice. i have some of them on mine. did nothing for my oveclock but they look leet and fit under the silencers ive owned pretty nicely.
