quick question about cpu.

hi - quick question. which would be better for gaming & overall a the BEST cpu.

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego Core 64 bit 1MB L2 Cache

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800

AMD Opteron 165 1.8GHz 2MB Hyper Transport Dual Core Processor


or instead you could recommend me a better 939 pin CPU, something around $400/£200

Will you be overclocking?
If yes I would say the Opteron165. If no, then I would say the 3700+.

yeh thanks, just read a little & the x2 doesnt suit me, its dual core which is good for apps, multasking etc, but i play alot of games.

The opteron seem ok, but i think i'll go for the 3700, seems th best choice come to think of it.

The Opteron 148 would be a fine choice as well. Should be able to push it further than the 3700.
