RAM for P9X79 Deluxe?

Asus lists no qualified x8GB sticks for the P9X79 Deluxe. Why?

I'm looking at these sticks. How do I know they will be compatible? G.SKILL lists them as so, but not ASUS.

Is 1866MHz a good balance between price, speed and latency?

I'm nervous buying this RAM without seeing a single system verified working with the P9X79.

With regard to the compatibility lists it isn't easy for every motherboard manufacturer to test every new piece of RAM that comes on the market, if G.Skill says it should be compatible then it should be fine (if not you could return it to them).

With that said, it should be just fine, the Z-series memory is 'made for' the X79 chipset. 1866 is a nice price/performance ratio for the RAM as well.

bigger question - do you really need 32GB of memory?

Lots of people are getting the Samsung WonderRAM running at 2400 Mhz on Intel rigs, including your mobo. I run mine @ 1890 Mhz 8-9-9 with my FX-4170. To get just slightly higher performance as what this RAM can deliver will cost you ~2x as much.

I see. I did not catch that, thanks for pointing that out. AFAIK they are only making 2 and 4 GB sticks right now.
